Totally Geeky or Geek Chic? Video Game Scarf

Nobody does geeky accessories like video game aficionados, so I wasn't the least bit surprised when I found the kitschy and fabulous Pacman Ghost hat and scarf.

The hats on the site range from $40, while the scarves cost about $150, but they are hand crocheted. "I crochet this scarf with my little hands using my imagination," says the maker. "This PacMan scarf is hotter than hot." So what do you think?

The scarf can pass as cute...but the hat-- why would anyone want four eyeballs on the front of their head? It's just not practical. I can see use for two in front and two behind...but that's not what's going on here. Reverse the hat and then we're cool.

I could so make that scarf, and I'd never charge that much for it. Yeesh. The yarn is probably cheap acrylic, too.
But it's very very clever. And I definitely need to make that hat.

I actually like the hat better than the scarf. It's much more subtle in its geekiness, and it ind of reminds of those hats with the little bear ears.
