FABTV: George Michael "Freedom"

Welcome to another new feature on Fab that I am really excited about. Sit back, relax and enjoy the FABTV!

Seriously, the first time I saw this video when I was a wee aspiring fashionista I think I developed girl crushes on all these lip syncing supermodels. I mean, you have Naomi as the sultry dancer in the dark, Christy ethereally walking through hallways wearing a white sheet, Cindy in the bathtub and Linda cozied up underneath a black sweater - all of them lip syncing to a fantastic early 90s George Michael song. And, not to mention the no-name hot male model in his white v-neck looking all sexy too. But hands down the best part: the breakdown when a strobe light effect shows three of the aforementioned girls in some sort of dark, blood-sucking secret society slumber party. Now these were supermodels - never to be duplicated.

Don't forget about Elaine! She's so pretty in the Almay commercials now . . .

That's one of the few commercials that makes me want to go out and buy the makeup.

Back when models were actually beautiful. Now, it seems, more of them are really plain, or some of them not in the least attractive, bordering on ugly. The blonde girl in my latest Neiman Marcus catalog with the huge eyes would never have been a model in the 80's or 90's. She's a monstrousity. Were did pretty go? Justin brought sexy back. Someone needs to bring beauty back.

Thank you girls - I'm glad you agree with me! Even this month's Vogue featured the next crop of supposed supermodels and, I'm sorry, they did not have that je ne sais quoi these lovelies did! Happy Saturday! xo

I loved this video the minute I saw it way back when. It still has so much style that is sorely missed in most of today's videos.

And who would of thought, the models are so natural lip-synching lyrics belonging to another artist.

Actually, it should be natural for them, since they can wear other designer's clothes with panache, so it's kind of similar territory!

This is one of my guilty pleasure songs. Actually, GM is one of my guilty pleasure artists - LOVE this song.

I forgot how beautiful Naomi used to be. Wow. And Linda is probably my favorite supermodel of all time.

You're totally right... "Supermodels" now are definitely lacking compared to these women. And when I see her now I forget how gorgeous Naomi Campbell was when she was younger.
