Halloween How To: Luella Teen Zombie

Channel your inner evil teen this Halloween by taking your lead from the catwalk. Le Freak has never been so chic with models sporting black lipstick, pale skin, zombie eyes and crimped hair at the Autumn/Winter shows this season. Take note though, this look is not about being pretty or glamorous, if that's more your bag then try a cat beauty style instead. If, however, you want to look both on-trend and suitably scary Luella's teen zombie style will certainly get you plenty of attention.

This makeup look will work with a crazy zombie costume or just add some spooky magic to an all-black ensemble. For some easy expert tips for re-creating this style at home plus more pictures from the Luella show, just read more.

  • Face: At Luella the girls had ultra pale skin with a slightly waxy sheen. Use a foundation that will give you plenty of coverage. It should look almost mask-line in appearance. Try Boots 17 Skin perfecting Balancing Foundation (£5.49). Add some translucent powder to keep it in place.
  • Cheeks: Skip the blush all together to create a gaunt effect. For an other-worldly sheen dot some MAC Strobe Cream (£19.50) onto your cheekbones and brow bones.
  • Eyes: Keep eyelids ghostly white with a pale shadow. At Luella the look was matte but I like using a bit of shimmer to add a touch of drama to this style. Try Bourjois Eye Shadow (£5.75) in Blanc Diaphane. Next, use a thick black liner under the eyes only. Start from the inner corners and draw the line all the way outwards and upwards, until it meets the tip of your brow. Clinique Black Kohl Shaper (£12) is a great pencil that won't budge.
  • Lips: Keep lips matte and neutral for a washed-out effect. I like Myface Gigabite Lipstick (£9.99) in Suga Mama .
  • Hair: Hair should be big and crimped. Use a heat protecting spray first and then crimp sections of the hair with BaByliss Pro Crimpers (£14.99). If you have lots of hair like the Luella models then use tartan fabric or scraps of black lace to tie into two high bunches. Attach dark coloured ribbons to the hair with kirby grips for a textured look.
