Nov 6 2008 - 5:50am Last weekend, I attended a collective canning event. Sponsored by Fallen Fruit, an activist group that promotes the planting of public fruit trees, the public fruit jam was a free, communal jam-making session where participants shared fruit and jam-making tips. i didn't realize that they had something like this. it's funny - my fiance is from texas where his family does a lot of this stuff and being from the north east, it's kind of foreign to me and my family. the other day we were talking about how to can things or make jams, and if we had get togethers like this - then i would be able to learn more. i'm so jealous of you!
