High street stores are still offering great sales but this will soon make way for their spring stock. Personally I'm much more of a spring clothes person than winter so I'm quite excited. It's been almost a year since Isaac Mizrahi announced his departure from Target for Liz Claiborne. Now, his debut collection for Claiborne is finally out and ready for perusal. The line is quintessential Isaac, designed in fresh colors and sporty cuts.

“[The clothes] look wonderful. It’s supposed to be snappy. I hate to use the word ‘grown-up,’ but it’s slightly more grown-up,” says Mizrahi. The vivid prints are a refreshing take on the mid-priced line, and I like how he experimented with different necklines. Definitely a change from Claiborne's past designs. The line hits department stores in February. Are you excited?

Paul & Joe 2009 Spring Sparkles Collection

Lucky me — I've just seen the items from Paul & Joe's newest Spring 2009 Sparkles Collection. Not to be confused with their Spring 09 Colour Collection, Sparkles is limited edition and it consists of two fabulous shimmery lipsticks (£14 each) and two, three-pan eye shadow palettes (£28 each).

The lipsticks come in Opening Night, a pearlized pale pink and Backstage, a golden beige. They are creamy, sheer and come packaged in funky heavy stock paper with Paul & Joe's chrysanthemum pattern engraved on the product.

The powder eye shadows are available in Ingenue, a natural beige, brown and grey palette and Starlet, a pale pink, grey and deep purple trio. My personal fave is the neutral Ingenue palette since it can so easily take you from day to night, plus, the center shade can also double as a brow filler.

Spring 2009 Trend Alert: Harem Pants

I know it's hard to think about the summer when it's this cold, but I'm trying to stay positive by looking to future trends. The penchant for harem pants has been hanging around in the wings of fashion for a while appearing on the catwalk at Balmain and YSL for Autumn/Winter '08 but looks likely to be even bigger in the Spring. The Aladdin style trousers have already been worn by Naomi Campbell but are soon to be available in brighter shades. They were spotted on the Spring '09 catwalk at Alexander McQueen (left), Betsey Johnson (right) and Chloe (center) to name but a few.

The trend has now hit the High Street with great options available for under £50. It's best to choose a slightly cropped pair as they will be more flattering and team with a tight fitting top or crop top if you're feeling brave. This exaggerates the volume and balances the shape slightly. See below for some examples available now.

Fab Ad: Versace Spring '09

Supermodels continue to dominate ads and they show no signs of stopping. Case in point: Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen are spotlighted in Versace's Spring '09 ad campaign. The two blond beauts are sailing the high seas wearing refreshing black and white frocks, heart-adorned bags, and shiny platforms. My favorite piece is the black heart dress Kate is wearing (left). It's whimsical and doesn't take itself so seriously. What say you about these ads? Did Versace hit the nail on the head or did it miss the mark?

Oscar De La Renta's Spring '09 campaign featuring Raquel Zimmermann is nothing short of exquisite. The ethereal ad, shot by Craig McDean, features Zimmermann looking fabulous in Oscar's layered silks and pointelle knits. The juxtaposition of the picturesque background and Raquel's strong features is genius. Soft but not overly feminine. There's no doubt this man has his art form down to a tee. Are you loving this as much as I am?Source

Fab Ad: Daisy Lowe for Marc by Marc Jacobs

Back in November I told you that Daisy Lowe had been snapped up as the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Well, today the first images of her campaign have been released and I think you're going to be impressed! The campaign was shot, like all of Marc's ads, by Juergen Teller and although it's not as controversial as those Victoria Beckham pictures it has turned out quite well! I like the contrast between the pale background and Daisy's dark eyes and hair. What do you think of the photo?

There are many rumours circulating at the moment regarding celebrity collaborations. In late November I reported that Alexa Chung might be lining up a collection with New Look and yesterday the rumour mill started churning out stories of Christina Aguilera for Topshop. Neither has been confirmed but who knows what 2009 has in store? Other rumoured capsule lines include Cheryl Cole for Topshop, Pixie Geldof for New Look and Leona Lewis creating a vegan accessories collection. Which would you most like to see?
