2009 is turning out to be banner year for blunt cut fringe and the pageboy bob. Last year the angled bob or Posh bob (aka the pob) reigned supreme, but already this week we've noticed that Katy Perry's taken the chop and now Jessica Alba. Perhaps stars are hoping to shed some old weight from last year. 
According to WWD, the French bath and body brand L’Occitane en Provence is getting ready to launch a new spring, facial skincare collection made from organic ingredients called Organic Olive Oil Cream Based Care.
Oooh, how exciting. It's awesome to learn that more and more mainstream brands are becoming eco-concious and are adapting to the new, healthier organic way of beauty. 
Last night at the 2009 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, the red carpet was filled with today's TV stars, gorgeous dresses and beautiful hair and makeup. Perhaps the hottest trend was the ever popular nude lip.
Personally, I love Debra Messing and Kate Hudson's matte, uber pale choice the most, but Carrie Underwood and Olivia Wilde's shiny pout sure does make their pearly whites glisten. 
Lucky me — I've just seen the items from Paul & Joe's newest Spring 2009 Sparkles Collection. Not to be confused with their Spring 09 Colour Collection, Sparkles is limited edition and it consists of two fabulous shimmery lipsticks (£14 each) and two, three-pan eye shadow palettes (£28 each).
The lipsticks come in Opening Night, a pearlized pale pink and Backstage, a golden beige. 
Music's latest It girl has taken to the scissors and chopped off her lush black hair. Katy's long and blunt Louise Brooks style bob looks sleek and much more sophisticated than her typical long waves. Perhaps it's her sudden breakup that preempted the change, or, it could be a desire for a new image in the new year. 
With the help of these smoky eye shadow palettes, getting that sultry, come-and-get-me eye makeup look has never been easier. All you have to do is blend the lightest colour just under the brow bone, use the second lightest shade all over the lid (stop at the crease), add the medium dark shadow to the crease (remembering to blend well) and you can deepen the crease and line your eyes with the darkest shadow. See, it's a cinch! 
Hair extensions can either be clipped in, bonded, braided, sewn or weaved into your hair. Fake ponytails are typically attached by a giant claw, but falls are solid hair pieces that get attached just under the crown of your head to add length, thickness and volume. Last night at the Bride Wars premiere in New York, actress Anne Hathaway arrived with a rich brown fall that added a certain 1960's polished mod-style glamour to the red carpet.

With all of the hoopla surrounding Christmas and New Year's, I completely forgot to ask you what you think of Ashlee Simpson's new, old hair colour. I remember Ash as a blonde from her 7th Heaven days, but since then she's gone from black to brown to deep red. I absolutely love the colour, the length and the loose, relaxed waves that frame her beaming smile.
