2009 is turning out to be banner year for blunt cut fringe and the pageboy bob. Last year the angled bob or Posh bob (aka the pob) reigned supreme, but already this week we've noticed that Katy Perry's taken the chop and now Jessica Alba. Perhaps stars are hoping to shed some old weight from last year. 
Last night at the 2009 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, the red carpet was filled with today's TV stars, gorgeous dresses and beautiful hair and makeup. Perhaps the hottest trend was the ever popular nude lip.
Personally, I love Debra Messing and Kate Hudson's matte, uber pale choice the most, but Carrie Underwood and Olivia Wilde's shiny pout sure does make their pearly whites glisten.

Earlier this month Scarlett Johansson decided to darken up her hairdo, and now check out Swedish actress Malin Akerman. This typical funny blonde who's appeared in Entourage, The Heartbreak Kid and is most well known for her dastard and non-sisterly behaviour in 27 Dresses debuted a brand-new, bronze-copper hair colour at the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival over the weekend.
I think the shade gives her warm personality even more of an approachable feel and I especially like how she's decided to go for something new when we least expect it. 
Hard to believe that Kelly Osbourne used to come off like a foul-mouthed brat, isn't it? At last night's party for Flaunt magazine, the 24-year-old looked more like a punk debutante than an angsty teenager. While her hair may no longer be shocking pink, she still wears the hue with confidence on her lips.

Last night at Flaunt Magazine's 10th Anniversary Party and Annual Holiday Toy Drive in Los Angeles, Kelly Osbourne channeled her festive holiday spirit into her lipstick! Her bold pink pout has been trendy for some time now, but besides Christina Aguilera, I've never seen it paired with such a pale face. I happen to think that she looks gorgeous here with 40's inspired hair and creamy skin, but I'm not the biggest fan of the iridescence in this particular colour. 
I can't say enough about the hairstyle (and gorgeous earrings) we saw on Rosario Dawson at the premiere for Seven Pounds in LA. At first glance, it looked like a chopped change from her recent Lucky cover but, once I zoomed in, I realized it was a nip and tuck.This style's a baby step for commitmentphobes who want a cut, but aren't quiiite there yet. The trick to the illusion of short hair: large hair pins.

I love Zooey Deschanel's retro look. With those striking blue eyes and rich, chocolate brown hair, she's the embodiment of cool style — literally. If I had to color-match this adorable actress, I'd say she's right on target, keeping her makeup choices in the cooler-toned family.

Last night at the HFPA Salute To Young Hollywood Party in Los Angeles, actress Rumer Willis arrived at Nobu with a slightly more brownish shade of red hair than we've seen in the past few months. It's hard to believe that before September, she was a dark brunette. This fair-skinned beauty really likes to play with colour; whether it be her hair colour or the tint of her contacts — now that's what I call daring! 
Madonna is in the last weeks of her sold-out Sticky and Sweet tour, and after seeing her dance around the stage, all I have to say is, 50 seems like a lot of fun — and it looks pretty good, too.
