Last week I reported on the Queen's New Year honours list which included Anya Hindmarch and British Fashion Council's chairman Hilary Riva. Today John Galliano, who is already the holder of a CBE, has been appointed a chevalier of the French Legion of Honor.
The creative director of Christian Dior joins the likes of Sonia Rykiel, Azzedine Alaia, and Yves Saint Laurent, who have all previously received the accolade.

Christian Dior has wooed Academy Award-winning French actress, Marion Cotillard, to join the fashion house. Marion will represent the label as the new face of the historic Lady Dior bag. The actress joins the list of beauties, which includes Monica Bellucci, Diane Kruger, and Carla Bruni, who have endorsed the bag in past.

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen has landed another modeling contract which begins the ball rolling for the Spring 2009 campaigns. Gisele will be the face of Dior for next season which was confirmed on her own blog earlier this week.
Gisele appeared in the Dior ads for Spring and Autumn in 2004 (pictured here) which was shot by Nick Knight. 
Amongst the lucky Fashion Week attendees, no one delivers the drama like Ms. Dita. She has been trailblazing since London Fashion Week, making stops at Dolce & Gabbana and many of this week's Paris shows.
