Nottingham Trent has got one of the best names for fashion design outside of London. They produce high quality students with Paul Smith being the most famous (and proud) of their alumni, regularly sponsoring the graduate show. This years graduates were impressive with many of the young designers including knitwear in their collections. 
Just under twelve hours to go until the gala show at the end of Graduate Fashion Week awards the best young designers from 48 universities and colleges from across the UK. Exciting then that another established designer should be joining the panel as today it was announced that Julien MacDonald would be joining Claudia Schiffer, Lorraine Candy (editor of Elle UK) and River Island's Richard Bradbury.
If winning alone wasn't enough, the winning student will get a £20,000 prize, the chance to work at River Island and a lot of publicity. 
If they were more hours in the day then I would love to tell you about every single student and their amazing collections. Every single graduate showing at this year's Graduate Fashion Week has worked incredibly hard and deserves great applause. However, although this is not physically possible, I will strive to bring you the most up to date news about this year's graduating class. 
Northbrook and Bournemouth Universities combined creative powers to present their graduate collections for 2008 yesterday at Earls Court.
First up was Bournemouth University with several outstanding collections. Ida Vasaasen created a beautifully romantic line of delicates created from a range of pale fabrics including lace, chiffon and faux fur. 
Graduate Fashion Week kicked off for another year yesterday opening with a show from UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire). Graduate Fashion week has moved to a new venue now taking over Earls Court 2 which is literally bursting with young, talented graduates just waiting to jump in to the fashion design scene.
The level of skill on show from UCLAN was higher than ever with original, creative pieces that were still very wearable.
