There are some games I get excited about, and then there are the games that I cannot live without. Remember how unbearable the lead up was to Super Mario Galaxy was. Yeah, it's like that over the next few months for me.

If you want to get a head start on all the latest beauty, hair and fashion trends for autumn/winter, we're asking the top beauty and fashion editors, bloggers, buyers, makeup and hair artists, stylists and industry experts, to share their pick of the hottest trends for the new season.
First, we have Amy Lawrenson – ELLE UK Web Assistant and beauty addict – sharing her top beauty buys for autumn's high voltage, dramatic look. Here's her exclusive blog for us:
Next season’s beauty trends are all about drama.
There's no getting away from the fact that orange is this season's hottest makeup shade – and the quickest, and quirkiest, way to inject some colour into your summer beauty routine.
The Orange trend all started with MAC's now cult lipstick, in Morange, (£11) – summer's most covetable shade. MAC's head of artistry told Grazia, "Orange is the perfect antidote to the vampiness of last season, but still has enough to pack a punch".
I think MAC comes out with a new makeup collection more often than I sanitize my shower, but hey, that's not a terrible thing, is it. The latest launch to catch my eye is the Mineralize Skinfinish Duo ($26.50). The compact contains finely milled, baked face powder; about 75% is matte, and the rest is softly shimmery.

OK, so I'll admit she looks a little scary in this picture, but Sophie Ellis Bextor was working the bright lights, bold colour trend to the max, as she partied at G-A-Y, this weekend.
I'm definitely not suggesting you go all-out, like Sophie, and copy her drag queen-esque false eyelashes, or rather scary wide-eyed look – but it's great to see a normally fresh-faced, girl-next-door type, working a more on trend, makeup look.
As the new face of Rimmel, you'd expect that Sophie may have been learning some makeup artist tips, as well as how to take her makeup up a notch, for a big party night.
To get her rainbow bright look, just

This Spring/Summer the catwalks were awash with ultra modern makeup looks, from theatrical glitter, to bursts of bright colour. The trend we all actually want to wear though, is going by the name of Rustic Romance. Think fierce, bold brows, rust eye shadow shades and gently blushed cheeks.
The writers of the whip-smart Jezebel blog revealed their home office workspaces last week, and what I was most pleased to see was that they almost all use Macs. I have worked in offices where we used all PCs or all Macs (guess where I was happier?); in fact, I became a Mac convert after being exposed to them in an office setting.
It can be hard to have to use one when you're used to the other, leading to more calls to IT, frustration, and sometimes, switching teams.

This ad totally cracks me up. Little did I know that the PC vs. Mac wars started long before the 21st century.

It doesn't take a gadget freak to appreciate the art that technology can be — now I have legitimate art-world backup. San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art has put Mac products from the past and present on display.
Warning: If you're sick of the iPhone, then stay away from the SFMOMA, because the curators have deemed its design an artistic marvel and have featured it prominently, under a glass box (which I have thought about doing, but you know, I needed that whole functionality thing). Also on display is 2000-era Power Mac G4 Cube.
The Apple products are part of the 246 and Counting exhibit, which showcases architectural drawings, furniture, books, and industrial-design products (hence the Apple stuff).

This is the sumer of bright, bold colours and look-at-me makeup. Think peacock blue, cream eyeshadow, with cerise cheeks and raspberry lips.
At the Haute Couture shows, makeup artists were like magpies for the bright stuff – there were red berry lips at Valentino, lime and yellow eyeshadow at Dior and painted-ladies with purple eyes and bright red lips at Christian Lacroix.
