I spotted these Wine Cork Placecard Holders ($23.95) at Bright and Bold, which are actually made of resin, and thought they'd make a fabulous and simple DIY for a bridal shower brunch (or any other event). It's kind of a sad fact that these are being mass produced, but we won't get into that. I'm sure most guests would get a kick out of them, especially my girlfriends who are staunch wine fans.

I must preface this post by saying, "Yes, this invite is rather kitschy." But, Vegas is kitschy too, so I whole-heartedly embrace it. Landon Pigg's "Coffee Shop" is a song I'll probably always associate with engagement proposals and diamond rings. The song first wiggled its way into my subconscious over the holiday season as the backdrop for those "a diamond is forever" ads with the couple kissing in the car in a snowy city. When I finally heard the full version of the song several weeks back, it seemed like I'd already been listening to it for years — and in a good way.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are so odd to me. Some of them seem to undermine the symbolism of the romantic gesture of getting married. Like, how does having a stripper grind on you during a lap dance signify that you're ready to walk down the aisle with your sweetie.
