Animal Crossing City Folk For the Wii: New Features, Still Cute

Animal Crossing City Folk For the Wii: New Features, Still Cute I'm obviously a big fan of Animal Crossing — having spent hours on end playing Wild World on my DS — I'm happy to say I've already put in some good time with Animal Crossing: City Folk, since its release on Sunday. It's the same game you know and love from before (which could be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it), but thankfully there are a few awesome new features on the Wii version that you won't find on any of the other consoles. One of which is the Wii Speak adapter ($30) that lets you chat with others from around the world via your WiFi connection.

Fable II Early Impressions: Are You Playing Yet ?! Although Fable II and Little Big Planet were supposed to be released on the same day (causing some major headaches for yours truly on which to play first), I was a bit relieved to find that one of them would be delayed, causing my game crunch to disappear for the time being. Now, the much anticipated sequel to 2004's Fable will keep me happily occupied until LBP hits shelves on Oct. 27.

Spore Origins Hits the iPhone and iPod Touch Although Steve announced its release yesterday at the Let's Rock presentation, I got a chance to play with the newest game to hit the App Store at the Spore Release party last week. Spore Origins officially launched for the iPod Touch and iPhone on Monday and comes in at a cool $10 for your gaming pleasure. Although the full version of Spore on your Mac or PC will take you all the way through Cell to Space stages, Spore Origins is condensed down into 30 levels in the Cell stage only (which was one of my faves anyway).

Missing Tycoon? I'm on the Case! I got a surprise visit the other day from a detective and a street cop. Needless to say, it kinda freaked everyone out having an intimidating looking guy flash his badge and ask for me by name! But thankfully, they weren't here to toss me in the slammer, they were here to recruit me to play a new mystery game called Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir.

Holy Evolution, Batman! Pre-Load Almost All of Spore Today! If you are counting down the minutes until you can start creating, evolving, and planning your galactic domination with Spore, you are not alone. I'm looking forward to hiding out in my apartment to watch my very own creatures perform a special tribal dance around a fire. I know, I'm a dork.

Hot Games to Warm You Up This Fall and Winter There are some games I get excited about, and then there are the games that I cannot live without. Remember how unbearable the lead up was to Super Mario Galaxy was? Yeah, it's like that over the next few months for me.

Watchmen to Launch Prequel Video Game in Early March You've heard me say it a thousand times before: movie tie-in titles usually suck. So when I heard about the Watchmen game, I held my breath bracing for the fallout. But thankfully, I hear this will be a different kind of tie-in.

Get Your Game On: July Releases It's summertime folks, and even though you should be outside enjoying the weather, it's okay if you hide away every once in awhile to play a game or two. Last year at this time I was stoked for the release of a few awesome games (like Odin Sphere), but this year I'm not really jumping up and down with excitement. But that's not to say there aren't some playable titles coming, so check out these games that I think are worthy of a spot on your Gamefly rental queue, a drive to the video game store, or maybe even a purchase in this slideshow!
